About Me

My name is Menolly Nelson (yes, it's a unique name. It's pronounced like Molly, but with a Men. It's from this series of fantasy books). I was born and raised in Kent, WA (about 30 minutes south of Seattle). I came to Utah to go to Brigham Young University where I met the love of my life and stuck around. I'm 24 years old, and here are some of my favorite things:

(Photo not taken by me)
Dancing. I've been dancing since I was 6 and I love it! I've done ballet, modern, jazz, latin, ballroom, and cabaret (lifts and stuff, not like burlesque)

Rain. Growing up near Seattle I not only learned to tolerate the rain, but I grew up loving it! The percussive sound of it beating on the roof when you're falling asleep; the feel of it on your skin; the cathartic nature of it's weeping and renewal, I love everything about rain (except that it's usually cold).

Logan. My wonderful husband. He loves me, video games, and efficiency.

Richelle & Becca. My two closest friends (besides my husband). These two have been such wonderful friends for so long, I don't know what I'd do without them.

Books. I have always loved books. Even before I could read I would sit with the TV guide and pretend. My favorite book is C.S. Lewis' The Great Divorce.

Animals. I have four pets (I know, well on my way to being a crazy cat lady): two dogs (a year old lab/aussie mix named Sokka and a 5 month old border collie/aussie/blue heeler mix named Suki) and two ferrets (a 1.5 year old named Momo and a 5 year old named Bumi)

Candlelit Baths. Bathtime is the highlight of my day. I love to sit in a beautifully scented bathtub, listening to Pandora's Lisa Gerrard radio, and just letting my troubles soak away.

Photography. Obviously I love photography. I love being able to not only enrich people's lives with beauty, but also show them things they might otherwise miss.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Sorry if this is preachy, you can skip it if you must, but it's one of the things I love most in life. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and knowing my Savior loves me enough to atone for my sins fills me with indescribable wonder and joy.
